Economics of on-farm Integrated Farming System (IFS): A Case Study

ABSTRACT

In-depth case study was documented on integrated farming system (IFS) model practiced by the farmer in the Nuh block of Haryana with the aim to study its economic stability, technical viability and risks associated with farmer practicing IFS under resource poor field conditions. It reveals that IFS provides a sustainable income with benefit cost ratio of 2.3 on every rupee invested. With Rs. 6.5 lakh net return from 2.4 ha land even under the market constraints and risks associated in production. Present case will provide an in-depth analysis on constraints & benefits associated with IFS practiced by farmer under realistic field condition.
