Fruit drop in citrus is separated into three primary periods: post bloom, which occurs a few weeks after blooming, i.e. March-April, June drop, which occurs in June-July, and pre harvest, which occurs in September-October. Excessive fruit drop in citrus has contributed to low yield and has made many citrus-growing countries unprofitable, despite adequate flowering and initial fruit set.
