Abstract

Guava plays a vital role in India`s fruit production. However, the traditional methods for propagating guava plants have been a bottleneck for commercial cultivation. Recently, wedge grafting has emerged as a highly efficient and cost-effective technique for multiplying guava plants. Studies have revealed that this method not only increase the propagation efficiency but also accelerates the fruit-bearing capacity compared to other propagation methods. Moreover, high-yielding guava varieties have shown promising results when propagated through wedge grafting. Further research is necessary to fully explore the potential of wedge grafting for large-scale production of guava seedlings.
