The lockdowns have resulted in severe economic losses as a whole to the economy but farmers, resource poor and migrant workers remain its worst sufferers. The Government of India on 14th of May, 2020 announced an economic stimulus package of Rs. 20,000 crore which was to be distributed amongst different sectors of the economy so as to speed up its revival. The package of economic stimulus consisted of various tranches for different sectors. The third economic tranche is related to developmental and infrastructural activities relating to agriculture and allied sectors. This article goes through the different aspects of plans and policies of the tranche and discusses about its impact on the farming community and its various hits and misses.
