The seafood industry faces numerous challenges, including overfishing, environmental degradation, and ethical concerns related to traditional fishing and fish farming practices. Investors are showing growing confidence in a future where the fish we eat will come from stem cells cultivated in bioreactors instead of being harvested from the ocean. According to scientists, the development of lab-grown fish holds the potential to mitigate overfishing and address the escalating global demand for seafood. Several emerging ventures focused on cultured seafood are spearheading advancements in cell biology as they navigate the unexplored realm of growing fish tissue in laboratory settings. In this article, we delve into the exciting world of cultured fish and explore how it could change the way we enjoy seafood.
