In pulse cultivation there are major problem of seed germination, seed emergence, plant mortality, and crop establishment. All these problems are associated with lower pulse productivity. Seed priming is a promising option to improve seed germination, seedling emergence and plant stand for achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production and therefore better availability for balanced diet for poor population of India.
