ABSTRACT

Increasing the demand for the quality of seeds is one of the most economical and efficient inputs to agricultural development which can increase the yield potential of the crop. Therefore good quality seeds needed to enhance productivity which can fetch ample return to the farmers. It assures the production of quality seeds for the next season which renders seed security to farmers, saving them from local distributors. Thus this article fully focuses on the improvement of the quality of seed by different biotechnological techniques and the role of seed quality for improving the livelihood and food security.
