This study examines the Indian and global export performance of millets over the span of 41 years, divided into two study periods: I (1980–2000) and II (2001–2021). The growth rate of millets export quantity in India was found to be higher in period I (29.36%) than in period II (3.63%). However, a reverse trend has been witnessed in the case of global exports. Overall, the quantity of Indian millet exports is found to grow at a rate of 15.14 %, which is much higher than the 2.26 % recorded in the case of global exports. The study calls for additional investment and support from government policies in order to boost millet exports worldwide.
