Author : Kishor Prabhakar Panzade, Kishor U. Tribhuvan and Sonam S. Kale

Various aspects of agriculture and climate change are internally linked with each other, as variation in climate is the main cause of biotic as well as abiotic stresses, which have adverse effects on the agricultural production. The land under agriculture cultivation are being affected by climate changes in various ways, e.g., variations in temperature, annual rainfall, modifications in weeds, incident of pests and pathogens, global change of atmospheric CO2 or ozone level, heat waves etc. The negative impact of climate change on agriculture and transgenic crops developed to abiotic stress tolerance as well as how adaption of transgenic crops alleviates the negative impact of climate change are discussed in this article.
