With advent of industrialization, huge quantities of industrial by-products are generated of which fly ash is not uncommon. Fly ash is formed due to combustion of coal in thermal power plants. Safe disposal of such ample numerous quantities of fly ashes is of grave concern.This article focuses potential use of fly ash in agriculture. Fly ash contains both macronutrients and micronutrients, improves soil quality by changing the physical and chemical properties of soils. Due to beneficial effects of fly ash it can be used as soil amendment and applied to soil for growth and development of crops.
