Advance Extraction Techniques for Pesticide Residues Determination in Soil Samples

Author : Priya Saini

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, due to the increasing population demand of food is increasing and in order to satisfy it, pesticides are widely applied to control the quality and quantity of agricultural products. However, the presence of pesticide residues and their metabolites in environmental samples is hazardous to all living organisms. Thus, monitoring of these compounds is very important to ensure that only permitted levels of pesticide are consumed. As a result, modern sample preparation procedures, such as accelerated solvent extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, solid-phase extraction, solid-phase microextraction, matrix solid-phase dispersion extraction and QuEChERS, have been developed.
