ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has created havoc because of its highly contagious nature. Its impact can be observed on all the sectors of the economy and agriculture is no exception to it. The government as well as many civic organizations are working in collaboration to manage this difficult situation. There have been various legal, financial and technological interventions in order to combat the effect of COVID-19 on Indian agriculture. Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Farmer Producer Organisations and Non-Government organisations throughout the country are actively engaged in supporting farmers and farmworkers. This article gives a brief overview of the impact of COVID-19 on Indian agriculture & the measures taken by the government and civic organisations to tackle it.
