ABSTRACT

The production cost of aquafeed is increases as the cost of conventional feed ingredients rises and their availability diminishes. Unconventional feed ingredients, which are less expensive and more readily available regionally, can be used to replace high-cost conventional fish feed ingredients to reduce aquafeed costs.  These ingredients can originate either from animals or plants, and they aren`t commonly included in animal and human food. Aquafeed costs could be reduced by substituting expensive conventional ingredients with less costly unconventional ingredients.
