ABSTRACT

Recently we have witnessed the newspapers flooded with worries of environmentalists regarding pollution due to stubble burning. In the past few years, it has become one of the issues, which is threatening the lives of millions of people. If not tackled properly, it has the potential to damage environment as well as the soil. Limitations and negligence of the farmers on this issue as well as lacunas from the side of policy makers are the major cause of increased concern. Therefore, proper handling of this issue is the need of the hour. Adoption of proper methods of crop residue management and farm mechanization has immense potential in combating this problem.
