ABSTRACT

The burgeoning concept of roofscape agriculture can be viewed as a solution to urban food insecurity and sustainability challenges. Through the literature review analysis, we can see the economic viability and environmental benefits of utilizing rooftops for farming, showcasing various types of rooftop farming systems and their advantages. Case studies, including Dhaka`s rooftop farming initiative, underscore the transformative potential of this practice. Despite structural and accessibility challenges, rooftop agriculture emerges as a promising avenue for sustainable urban development, offering cities a pathway to self-sufficiency and resilience.
