ABSTRACT

Paucity of irrigation water is causing alarming situation globally. Therefore, recycling and reuse of wastewater for irrigating to agricultural crops can mitigate some burden of water scarcity. However, there is one issue of concern with this technique i.e. amalgamation of contaminants and suspended solids in wastewater. This issue could be resolved by effective treatment of wastewater before irrigation. Besides this, growing of resilient crops, drip irrigation and dilution of waste water with pure water with optimum ratio etc. could be the possible ways to enable wastewater suitable for agriculture.
