National Agriculture Market (e-NAM): Special Reference to Uttar Pradesh

ABSTRACT
Electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) is a national trading portal that connects the existing APMC mandies electronically (web portal) creating a unified national market for agricultural commodities. The e-NAM system is implemented with a long term vision of providing higher returns to farmers for their produce, as on now 73.50 lakh farmers, 1.01 lakh traders and 53163 middlemen were registered. Through e-NAM, 1.52 million tonnes of produce was traded. The total value of traded produce was Rs. 36,275 Crore and it is also trading 90 different commodities. In this article importance, status and benefits of e NAM is depicted.
