Author : Birendra Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Meena, Supriya, Rakesh Kumar

ABSTRACT

The Napier Bajra Hybrid is a perennial grass, a cross between Bajra (Pennisetum americanum) and Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum), combining the superior quality and rapid growth of Bajra with Napier`s deep roots and multi-cutting capabilities. This hybrid thrives in subtropical regions across Asia, Africa, Southern Europe, and the Americas, with significant cultivation in various Indian states. It flourishes year-round in tropical climates and adapts well to diverse soil types, preferring light showers followed by bright sunlight. Characterized by numerous tillers and large, green leaves with softer sheaths and less serrated margins, it provides highly palatable, succulent herbage throughout its growth stages.
