Innovative Approaches: Nanotechnology in Insect Pest Management

ABSTRACT
The transition from traditional to modern agriculture has been marked by the adoption of various technologies to meet the food requirements of a growing global population. Excessive and inappropriate use of hazardous chemical pesticides resulted in multiple problems, including the resistance of insects, their sudden outbreaks, degradation of the environment, and concerns for human health. In modern agriculture, nanotechnology has emerged as a promising approach to pest management. It enables the delivery of desired materials in various forms, such as nanoparticles, nanocapsules, nanogels, and nanoemulsions, providing selective and long-term controlled release, offering a more sustainable approach to pest management. Continued research and development in this field are essential to unlock the potential of nanotechnology further for effective and environmentally responsible pest management strategies.
