Emergence of COVID-19 and the restrictive measures imposed by different countries for controlling it have given a strong jolt to the entire global economy. Dairy is one of the most vulnerable sectors for these disruptions owing to its characteristic production process and product features. This article examines the major implications of COVID-19 crisis on closely integrated dairy supply chain. The preliminary analysis indicates that although all the actors of dairy supply chain has been at the receiving end of the crisis but the dairy farmers have suffered higher losses mainly due to the impossibility of completely adjusting the supply in accordance to demand.
