Precise use of inputs, as and when the crop needs, enhances the resource use efficiency and improves farm productivity.  Agricultural drones with advanced remote sensing devices are capable of monitoring weather, crop growth and applying inputs in a very precise manner. Widespread use of drones improves efficacy and accuracy, which enables farmers to conserve resources and generate more income. In Indian agriculture majority of farmers are marginal and small with inadequate infrastructure facility. Need-based government policy support and implementation are critical for widespread adoption of drones. It will increase adoption among small and marginal farmers, and will significantly boost domestic drone production.
