ABSTRACT

Cauliflower is one of the widely grown vegetable crop in India which was introduced by British invaders in 19th century. But researchers were curious about whether introduced seeds were originated from European snowball types or Cornish type. Later it was proved that the original introduction was from Cornish types as certain traits were similar between them. With the evolution of heat-tolerant Indian types and the development of improved varieties, it has been possible to grow cauliflower throughout the year that helps in crop diversification and increase profitability among the growers.
