ABSTRACT

With the rising concern for global warming due to emission of green house gases, the need for mitigation of the hazard has gained momentum. Amid such time Carbon-sequestration has emerged as a promising solution. Among various systems or biomes which contribute to Carbon-sequestration the age old practice of agro-forestry has been reported to be an excellent option in comparison to other systems of single species cropping and grazing systems. This article is aimed to throw light on what is agro-forestry and why it has gained importance in field of Carbon-sequestration?
