ABSTRACT

India has a flourishing tourism industry and becoming an important global tourism destination. The tourism industry not only contributing Rupees 106.9 billion US dollars to Indian GDP but also creating 42 million jobs which are expected to become double by 2029. India is a home of a variety of climatic, diverse soil types, ranging physiography along with vast tracts of coastal line; therefore more than 50 species of crops are being cultivated. In addition to varieties of crops, diversity in animal husbandry and fisheries and also beauties of lush green mountains, winding rivers, peninsular oceans, massive deserts and picturesque villages with local flora and fauna makes India suitable for agri-tourism. Therefore India is capable of offering knowledge enriching and eclectic entertainment for the tourists.
